Community organizations are often an extension of the networks of care that exist among immigrant communities in what is known today as the United States. Almost 70% of community organizations are made up of women, demonstrating how they are nurturing these networks of care and mutual aid. But, community and nonprofit organizations often lack women in leadership roles, and have replicated the gender pay gaps seen in other sectors. To invest in the wellbeing of our families and communities, we must invest in women. We invite you to join three women leaders from community organizations across the U.S. for a conversation about their experiences in a leadership role and their hopes for the future of care through community organizing.
